MUSIC

Ruby began violin lessons at age six. For over ten years, she studied classical music as well as traditional American and Irish fiddle techniques. She has since picked up guitar, banjo and, most recently, electric bass in the Brooklyn-based band Debra Messy. She has also been featured as an actor-musician in numerous plays and productions. Additionally, Ruby composes and performs folk music for theatre and film. She recently wrote original compositions and lyrics, performed by Amanda Seyfried, in the short film Skin & Bone which premiered as part of the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.

The following demo is a sample from one of several original compositions which she wrote and performed for her role as Feste the Fool in the New Studio on Broadway's production of Twelfth Night, directed by Ian Belknap (artistic dir. of The Acting Company).
